Olight S2R Baton II 1150 Lumens Compact EDC Torch

It is that time of year again where we get about 2hours of decent sunlight before we drop back into darkness, so a good torch is an essential piece of everyday carry (EDC) and the Olight S2R Baton II 1150 Lumens Compact EDC Torch is a great choice.

This torch is powered by a rechargeable battery and comes with the MCC 1A Magnetic Charging Cable, which attaches to the base for hassle free charging. The only issue with this type of specialist battery is that you cannot switch it out with a shop bought version, however the charging cable is a USB cable which means you can pop it in a battery pack for some extra juice. The compact body weighs just 98.5g and measures up at 10cm, with a 2.3cm body and head diameter, it has an IPX8 rating and a robust casing. The torch comes with a blue pocket clip already installed on the torch, a spare black pocket clip, lanyard and soft, draw string carry pouch. The S2R Baton II has a maximum light intensity (candela) of 4600 and max. performance of 1150 lumens, it uses a TIR reflector (big, defined wide hotspot) and Luminus SST-40 LED.

It produces a beam distance of up to 135m, with a broad hotspot that is good for up close lighting, there are 6 modes to choose from that are all selected via the one switch. The switch has a little light on it that shows you how much power you have left with a green, amber or red illumination. The different modes are Level 1 1150~400 lumens with a max run time of 2+230 minutes, level 2 produces 400 lumens for 4 hours, level 3 provides 120 lumens for up to 14 hours, level 4 delivers 15 lumen for 100 hours and level 5 will give you 0.5 lumens for up to 60 days, there is also a strobe option for bringing attention to yourself.
