I’ve heard of hand soap, dish soap and body soap but never phone soap before, but when you think about how often your phone ends up in your hands throughout the day it seems like a very sensible idea.
Your phone often follows you everywhere, it can be providing a recipe whilst you cook, strapped to your arm whilst you work out and even follow some people (we all know at least one) into the bathroom for 5 minutes of light reading (insert poo emoji here). We would generally wash our hands after all these activities but how often do our phones receive a good cleanse?
Research suggests an average mobile phone can carry 10 times the number of bacteria when compared to a toilet seat, think of that next time you put your phone to your ear to answer a call. Now we are all officially grossed out by our portable germ factories let’s look at how the PhoneSoap 3.0 can freshen up our device.
This is a smartphone UV Sanitiser that washes your phone (water free) and neutralises bacteria whilst charging your phone at the same time, the first of its kind, with a universal layout to fit all phones and case sizes. In fact you do not need to stop at your phone, credit cards, money or anything else that fits inside can be safely sanitised, the cycle takes ten minutes in total, you don’t need to panic that you might miss out on something while its inside however as the acoustic audio amplifier alerts you to ringtones and notifications.
The two charging ports allow it to act as a universal charger for any device and it requires mains power to cleanse, making it slightly less portable. The PhoneSoap 3.0 kills 99.99% of bacteria as well as cold and flu viruses by using a medical grade UV-C light, no liquid, heat or chemicals required, with lightbulbs on both the top and the bottom, the PhoneSoap 3 achieves 360-degree disinfection, reaching all the tiny crevices, the glowing lightning bolt indicates when your device is being sanitised and it will automatically shut off when completed.
The lifespan of the lightbulbs is roughly 4,000 hours – which is 240,000 minutes, that works out as 24,000 cleaning sessions before the bulbs burn out and if that happens before then PhoneSoap will replace them for free.
The PhoneSoap 3.0 doesn’t come cheap, however, we know it definitely reduces germs and if it gets you to regularly clean your phone when you know you simply wouldn’t bother to physically disinfect, it could be a worthy investment. RRP € 87.37
