XP-Pen Deco 01 V2 3.5

Gone are the days when drawing tablets have to cost the earth, the Deco 01 V2 from XP-Pen comes in at just under £60, with a 10 x 6.25inch workspace giving you plenty of room to play with.

It is super slim at just 8mm thick and lightweight, making it highly portable, the stylus supports up to 60 degrees of tilt function which makes for a natural writing and drawing action allowing you to add shading to your creations. The XP-Pen Deco 01 V2 is compatible with Android devices 6.0 and above, Windows 10/8/7, Mac OS X 10.10 and above, and Chrome OS 88.0.4324.109. Also compatible with many major designer software such like Photoshop, SAI, Painter, Illustrator and Clip Studio to name a few. It can also be used with the XP-Pen’s Deco Draw Drawing App. Down the left-hand side of the tablet are eight customisable express keys, which can be personalised to be shortcut keys to open different software programs, the screen can be rotated 0, 90, 180, and 270 degrees. The edges of the drawing area are back lit so you know exactly where the boarders are, the brightness can be adjusted to suit your work environment, the drawing pad has 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity to provide a real drawing feel, if you press a little lighter the lines become fainter and thinner.

You can use the Deco 01 V2 to draw, paint, design, and edit photos on your tablet, this can be very handy at the moment for demos in web meetings and remote learning and it is compatible with Microsoft Office apps like Word, PowerPoint, OneNote and more. The stylus is thicker than your average pen or pencil but feels comfortable in the hand with a textured grippy surface that allows for long periods of use. Other features include the 5080 LPI resolution, handy pen stand, replacement nibs and an Anti-fouling glove which is sort of a half glove which prevents the outside edge of your hand marking the tablet whilst leaving the middle, index fingers and thumb free to draw naturally. This entry level drawing tablet delivers what you may expect for the money, it isn’t packed with loads of features, however the drawing pad is responsive, it works with plenty of apps, programs and operating systems, perhaps best suited for occasional editing and sketching, students, or hobbyists but professionals should look elsewhere. RRP £59.99
