Have you ever spotted a colour that fit perfectly with your design, only to realize that you couldn’t capture it, let alone find the actual shade of the colour?
Enter the Nix Mini 2 – an easy-to-use, durable and sleek tool that lets you scan any item to find its paint match or digital colour values. The Nix Mini comes with a Mini Lanyard, Micro USB Cable, Quick start guide and free lifetime access to the Nix Paints Android & iOS Apps. What makes the Nix Mini different from other colour sensors is that there is no need for calibration cards, drastically improving accuracy. The devices are individually calibrated in Nix Sensor’s Canadian lab using proprietary calibration methods, and are the only company in the world to use this method.
The Mini 2 is as you would expect – mini! The tool is just 1.5 x 1 inches and weighs just 17grams, and the aperture is 0.6 inches. It works with an app on your phone, Android 4.4 or newer with Bluetooth 4.0 and iOS 8.0 or newer.
It is easy to use, simply select the area of the colour you want to scan, place the sensor over it, blocking out all light (ensure the sample area is clean and debris free for an accurate reading), connect the Mini 2 and activate the scan via your smart device. Once scanned (it takes seconds) the app will give you a match to popular paint brands and collections including Dulux, Farrow and Ball, Valspar and many more, as well as complimentary colour palettes and RGB data.
The app can also be used to save projects and to share colour with clients or friends. It will also show you the location of your nearest DIY store and save your favourite colours to swatches, it can become a pretty addictive tool. The outer casing has been designed to prevent dust and debris from damaging the interior components and the completely solid-state technology means the Nix Mini 2 is a tough little device, ready for any environment. With access to over 100,000 paint colours and harmonies, as well as RGB data the Nix Mini 2 is suitable for graphic designers, photographers, interior designers, contractors and DIYers.
The Nix Mini 2 has a built-in rechargeable battery that will give you more than 3,000 scans in a single charge, it is so easy to use and the majority of the time we got excellent readings, we would occasionally get different info from the same sample spot but this was usually caused by dust on the surface. The Nix Mini 2 is a handy little device for getting accurate colour readings, as well as giving you colour palettes for design inspiration and precise brand matches, making decorating and design easier than ever.
