VAX ONEPWR Glide Hard Floor Cleaner

Spring is here, it’s a beautiful time of year when the sun streams in through the windows and highlights every grubby mark and speck of dust in your house and you wonder how you have been living in such squalor all winter.

The VAX ONEPWR Glide is a hard floor cleaner that vacuums, washes and dries hard floors all in one go, whilst killing 99.9% of bacteria, it comes with one free 250ml ONEPWR Multi-floor Solution and a spare brush roll. Powered by the Glide 4.0Ah battery, the new interchangeable battery, compatible with all the ONEPWR range, this offers up to 30 minutes runtime before needing to be recharged.

We were getting about 25mins on the high power setting, this should be enough to get most homes done in one go but be warned a full recharge will take 3hours, a second battery can be purchased but it doesn’t come cheap at £79.99. Unlike when using a mop, you don’t need to worry about vacuuming beforehand as the Glide does it all, the Twin Tank technology ensures that only clean water is used, thanks to the separate clean and dirty water tanks. The 600ml capacity might not seem a lot but the efficient use of the water combined with the brush roll means you don’t need a lot for an effective clean, it also ensures that the floor dries out quickly.

The Glide is suitable for sealed wood floors, laminate, lino, vinyl, stone and tiles; however, it did struggle to get deep down into the grouting, on some tiled floors. The vacuum worked effectively on both small and large debris, most marks were also removed by the wet brush in one go, very dried on dirt may take a couple of goings over to get rid of it, but it is still quicker and less effort than a mop.

The unit is reasonably lightweight and easy to navigate around the house with minimal effort, like many similar products of its kind it struggles to get right up to the very edge of the room, but it certainly gets closer than most. The built in LED Headlight lets you see into those dark corners and under furniture and when the cleaning is complete the auto clean system rinses the machine making it ready for next time.

The ONEPWR Glide is a rather pricey investment, it is probably overkill if the only hard floors are in the kitchen and bathroom but with its intuitive handling and high performance it is well worth it for larger surface areas. RRP £249.99
