DribbleUp Smart Medicine Ball 4

We had the pleasure of reviewing the DribbleUp Football a little while back, I personally loved the concept, but football just isn’t my thing, so when the Smart Medicine Ball arrived, I was really excited as someone who has been greatly missing the gym over the last year. DribbleUp was formed when two brothers from Brooklyn came up with the concept on their parents’ kitchen table in 2016, with the aim of using your phone to exercise something other than your thumbs.

Whether you go for personal fitness, football or basketball DribbleUp help you improve your skills when away from the gym, pitch and court. The Smart Medicine Ball is 6lb, making it a good choice for beginners and those with experience in the gym alike, you will need just 6ft of space to be able to make the most out of the workout. The medicine ball connects to the app that is compatible with any phone or tablet with iOS 10+ or Android 8+, it can also connect to your tv via Apple Tv or Chromecast so you don’t have to squint at your phone from a distance. The ball itself is durable, with a bright colour that won’t fade, this also distinguishes it from any other footballs in the house, you do not want to kick this by accident.

Once connected you are ready to meet your new virtual trainer, you can choose between pre-recorded workout and live daily classes, these classes show you on a global leaderboard and the chance you might get a shout out from the trainer (or a telling off) certainly helps you stay focused and perform to your best. You will need to sign up for a membership for the live classes which cost £9.99 per month, which might seem a bit expensive to some as it only features one item of equipment and there are some pretty cheap gym memberships out there, but the benefit is that you can work out anywhere with a little space. The Smart Medicine Ball offers a few different ways to get your workout on, focusing on improving strength and cardio over your upper body, lower body and abs. During the work out the app will track the balls movement, this means you need to hit the on-screen targets to get the reps, this also helps you maintain your form through every rep, at the end of the workout you will get your results so you can track your progress and improvements over time. You can work through a whole range of HIIT style exercises including Crunches, Russian Twists, Skaters, no muscles get forgotten, you can choose the level that’s right for you and improvement from there. If you are looking to start an entertaining, realistic and rewarding workout from home the DribbleUp Smart Medicine Ball is a great choice, introducing you into a wide range of moves to workout the entire body.
