Even the best-behaved dogs can find themselves distracted by an interesting smell or an enticing open gate. The PitPat GPS Dog Tracker is designed to give you peace of mind without overcomplicating things. It uses real time tracking with activity monitoring built into a small, lightweight device the dog can wear comfortably on their collar.

In terms of tracking, it uses GNSS satellite positioning with LTE M and NB IoT connectivity, which means it does not rely on Bluetooth or WiFi. If there is mobile coverage, you can see your dog’s location in real time through the app. Location updates come in every few seconds and there is no need for additional subscription fees to get this information.

The physical design is compact at 60 x 34 x 18 mm and around 30 g, so it sits comfortably on most collars without bothering your dog. It attaches using an extra stVelcro strap, which makes it easy to move between collars if needed. It is also fully waterproof to IP67, so rain, mud, and swimming are not a problem.

PitPat claims the battery life can handle up to six weeks per charge, which is far longer than many GPS trackers. Charging is handled through Qi wireless charging, so there are no exposed ports to worry about.
Alongside tracking, it includes a 3 axis accelerometer to monitor activity. The app records distance, calories, activity type, and rest time, giving you a clearer picture of your dog’s routine. It can even help guide feeding and exercise targets based on that data.

It is not perfect. Like all GPS devices, performance depends on signal strength, and accuracy can vary in more remote areas. But for most everyday use, it offers a solid balance of reliable tracking, long battery life, and useful activity insights in a small, practical package. RRP £149
