The Snowsky ECHO MINI-player off is so dinky, like, fits-in-the-stupidly-small-pocket-of-your-jeans tiny. Perfect for running, commuting, or just clipping onto your bag or belt while doing chores. It’s so light (55g), you’ll forget you’re wearing it. The clip is surprisingly sturdy too, which I didn’t expect from such a budget-friendly device. It has a classic tape cassette design to appeal to the retro lovers.
In terms of sound quality, it won’t blow your audiophile socks off, but it’s genuinely impressive for the price. The bass has some punch, and the mids and highs come through cleanly, more than enough for casual listening. I used it with a couple different earbuds and was happy with the results each time.
One of the best things is how simple it is to use. It’s basically plug-and-play.. No app, no Wi-Fi, no subscriptions, just music. There’s something really refreshing about that. Battery life is solid too, I’ve gotten around 14 hours on a single charge, which is more than enough for a few workouts or a day out. There are a few ways to listen to your tunes, there’s 8GB in built memory with the option of using a microSD up to 256GB. It also supports Bluetooth 5.3 so you can connect your wireless headphones.
The screen is super minimal, don’t expect album art or any fancy visuals, but I kind of liked the nostalgic vibe. It has two wired headphone ports, a 3.5mm and 4.4mm. Overall, the Snowsky ECHO MINI-player is a fun, no-frills throwback that does exactly what it promises. If you’re looking for a cheap, portable music player for active use or just want a break from your phone, it’s a great pick. Just keep your expectations in check, and you’ll probably be pleasantly surprised. RRP £49.51
