Designed for children aged five to twelve, it prioritises safety and connectivity over entertainment, music to most parents’ ears.
The Z1 allows children to make and receive calls and messages only with contacts pre‑approved by parents. The voice quality is clear and reliable whilst the onboard 2 MP camera supports HD video calling with autofocus and wide‑angle view for capturing surroundings. The location tracking is comprehensive, using GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, Wi‑Fi and base station triangulation. Parents can view real‑time movement via the imoo app, ensuring accurate positioning even in dense urban areas.
The device is splash‑proof with IPX8 ratings and includes durable materials built to resist drops and general kid life. The watch weighs just 51g and includes a breathable strap built for active children.
Battery life is solid with about two to three days of mixed usage; a full recharge takes around two hours. The parental controls are intuitive, Class Mode mutes communications during school hours. The stranger rejection blocks unrecognised numbers and there is no access to the general internet or social media, reducing distraction risks.
The interface runs on Mocor OS and features a 1.3‑inch TFT 240 × 240 display. Navigation is via touch, with large icons and easy gestures, this simplicity makes it straightforward for young users to make calls or check steps and messages.
Some minor drawbacks include size, the watch appears large on dinky wrists there are also occasional network compatibility hiccups depending on user.
