If you are looking for reliable earbuds without breaking the bank, then the JLab Go Pods ANC True Wireless Earbuds are worth a look. They are designed as a simple and affordable way to enjoy wireless audio with some useful modern features. They focus on everyday convenience rather than premium extras, making them a practical option for commuting, workouts or casual listening. They come in four colour choices Black, Lilac, Sage and Cloud White.

They feature a hybrid active noise cancelling system that uses microphones to help reduce background sounds so you can focus more clearly on music or podcasts. There is also a pass-through listening mode, often called Be Aware, which allows outside sound in when you need to hear traffic or announcements. There effect is genuinely pretty good for the price tag.

Sound quality is handled by 10 mm dynamic drivers, which produce a balanced listening experience with enough bass and clarity for everyday use, it won’t impress the audiophiles but that’s not who they have been designed for. The earbuds also include several sound presets through the JLab App, allowing you to switch between different listening profiles depending on your taste. It is here you can also set safe hearing levels and customise your own profiles.

Battery life is reasonable for such a compact pair of earbuds with each earbud offering around seven and a half hours of playback (5 hours with ANC on). The charging case extends total listening time to about 26 hours. A quick ten-minute charge can give roughly one hour of additional listening, which is useful when you are short on time.

The earbuds come with several ear tip sizes to help achieve a secure fit, however it it worth noting they may feel large in smaller ears, while an IP55 rating means they are resistant to sweat and light rain. This makes them suitable for gym sessions and everyday use without much worry.

The Go Pods ANC feel straightforward and reliable. Touch controls allow you to adjust volume, skip tracks or activate noise cancelling without reaching for your phone, but they aren’t the most responsive. They may not compete with high end models in terms of sound depth or noise cancelling strength, but for the price they offer a well-balanced mix of features and performance. RRP £29.99
