Caso Design Ice Maker
Home and Garden July 3, 2026
Our inside temperature this weekend has been 31 degrees, it has been truly uncomfortable and our poor ice cube tray in the freezer just hasn’t been able to keep up with the demand. The Caso Design Ice Maker can help combat the heat, it is compact enough to sit neatly on a kitchen worktop yet surprisingly productive, it’s built for anyone who enjoys cold drinks without the having to plan ahead.
Producing its first batch of bullet shaped ice cubes in as little as 6 to 13 minutes, the machine can churn out up to 12kg of ice over 24 hours. There’s no plumbing required, you simply fill the removable 1 litre water reservoir, select your preferred cube size from the two available options, and the let the machine get to work. Whether you’re cooling soft drinks, cocktails or an iced coffee during a heatwave, it keeps the cubes coming, ready for the next round.
Using it couldn’t be much simpler, my 5-year-old can even work it. A clear control panel features indicator lights for low water and a full ice basket. The transparent viewing window lets you watch the ice forming, which is oddly satisfying and considerably more entertaining than waiting for a traditional ice tray.
Despite its compact size, the Caso Design Ice Maker feels solidly built and runs relatively quietly at 42dB, a little louder than our fridge, although you’ll still hear the cubes dropping into the basket from time to time. As with most countertop ice makers, the ice isn’t stored in a freezer compartment, so if left unused it will gradually melt and be recycled into the next batch. That’s perfectly normal, but worth remembering if you’re expecting it to function like a freezer.
Maintenance is straightforward thanks to the integrated cleaning programme and easy access to the reservoir. At parties and barbecues we also get the comment “ooo, an ice machine” and I’m not going to lie it still makes me feel fancy. This machine is fast, reliable and remarkably convenient, it’s proof that sometimes life’s little luxuries really are worth making room for. RRP £119.99
