SOAR Running Linen Shell Top

When you are following a training plan you need to be prepared to get out in all weathers. The SOAR Running Linen Shell Top is part of SOAR’s experimental ProtoLab range, this lightweight shell takes the humble linen shirt and gives it a performance makeover.

Weighing just 165g in a size medium, the Linen Shell Top is designed specifically for warm weather running and changing conditions. Rather than relying on synthetic fabrics alone, SOAR has used a technical linen blend of 44% polyamide, 27% modal, 22% elastane and 7% linen. The result is a fabric that feels dry against the skin, wicks sweat efficiently and offers excellent airflow while retaining enough stretch for unrestricted movement.

The relaxed fit is a step away from SOAR’s usual race ready profile, giving you plenty of room for air flow but without becoming baggy. A half zip front allows for a quick boost of ventilation on the move, while the gusseted armholes, dropped collar and French woven contrast panels allow for a full range of movement. The adjustable waist helps you get a precise fit, and the reflective perforated SOAR logo adds for extra visibility during early morning or evening runs.

This shell is great for warm days when a standard windbreaker would quickly become a portable sauna. The linen blend gives it a distinctive crisp feel, drying remarkably quickly after sweaty moments while remaining breathable throughout longer runs.

The obvious thing that may put people off is the price. Although the technical material is highly effective at temperature regulation those that are looking for something with storage or the ability to blend in with their everyday wear might be disappointed.
