AstroAI B8 Car Battery Booster Jump Starter 4

Whilst you’re are getting your vehicle maintenance organised why not throw in a jump starter kit. I imagine most drivers have experienced that sinking feeling when the key turns and engine responds with a half-hearted click, it’s almost always when you are in a rush too. The AstroAI B8 Car Battery Booster Jump Starter is designed to turn those roadside panics into minor inconveniences.

Despite weighing just around 330g, the B8 is still compact and can easily slip into a glovebox or door pocket without stealing too much space. Beneath the casing is a 29.6Wh (8,000mAh equivalent) lithium polymer battery, capable of delivering a 2,000A peak current. That’s enough to jump start 12V petrol engines up to 7.0 litres and diesel engines up to 5.5 litres, covering the vast majority of family cars, SUVs and motorcycles.

The intelligent jumper clamps feature 10 built in safety protections, including reverse polarity, reverse connection, short circuit, overcurrent, overvoltage and spark proof protection, making it reassuringly beginner friendly. Unless you’re actively trying to connect red to black, it’s remarkably difficult to get wrong.

The B8 also doubles as a handy emergency power bank. A USB A fast charging port can top up phones, tablets and other gadgets, while the integrated LED torch offers three lighting modes including constant beam, SOS and strobe. It recharges via USB C, taking roughly three hours to reach full capacity.

As with any lithium jump starter, it’s also worth topping it up every few months so it’s ready when needed. For under £50, the AstroAI B8 really delivers, it is compact, easy to use and comes with bonus features, it’s one of those things you hope you won’t need but will be so grateful it’s there if you do. RRP £49.99
