If you are after some everyday earphones, you don’t necessarily want to spend a huge amount on them. I have lost a few earbuds in my time so if I’m looking to distract myself at the gym with some music or join a team meeting in the office I tend to look for low budget options that can still deliver. The SOUNDPEATS Air6 HS seem to fall neatly into this category. Rather than trying to beat their premium rivals on every front, it focuses on delivering good sound quality and everyday comfort without emptying your bank account.

Designed with a semi in ear fit similar to the classic AirPods, the Air6 HS sits comfortably in the ear without silicone tips disappearing into your ear canal. At just 4g per earbud, they’re light enough to wear for hours without discomfort.

Inside each earbud sits a 13mm Triple-Magnet Driver with Hi-Res LDAC. Support for LDAC allows compatible Android devices to stream audio at up to 990kbps, while Bluetooth 6.0 keeps connections stable and enables multipoint pairing, making it easy to swap between a laptop and smartphone without diving into Bluetooth menus every five minutes.

The sound quality is spacious and well rounded, with clear mid and high tone, the bass is strong enough for everyday listening but the semi open ear design means you will inevitably lose some of that depth.
They have an IPX5 rating so are protected against sweat and water resistance. The battery life is respectable, offering around nine hours from a single charge, extending to 45 hours with the charging case. A quick 10 minute charge provides roughly three hours of playback. The dual-mic ENC noise and AI Noise reduction helps single out your voice and reduce background noise to keep calls natural and clear,
Of course, physics still has the final say. Without a sealed fit, bass lacks the thunder of traditional in ear models, and noise cancellation can’t perform miracles. Neither should come as much of a surprise.
