Marshall Stockwell III
Audio November 2, 2026
Marshall has never been shy about its design and the Stockwell III is no different, from the outset you know you are in safe hands. The familiar grille, brass controls and guitar inspired carry strap give it plenty of character, but underneath the styling is a substantially updated portable speaker.
Inside sits a 65 Watt Class D amplifier for the Woofer and Two 31 Watt Class D amplifiers for the wide-band drivers. Two passive radiators help strengthen the low end, while the frequency response stretches from 54Hz to 20,000Hz. Marshall’s True Stereophonic 360 sound processing is designed to spread sound in multiple directions, making placement less critical when several people are listening around the speaker. Dynamic Loudness also adjusts the tonal balance as the volume changes, helping bass and treble remain present at quieter levels.
Physical bass, treble and volume controls sit on top, alongside a multidirectional media knob and programmable M button. There is further adjustment through the Marshall Bluetooth app for anyone who wants to fine tune the sound.
Connectivity is generous with Bluetooth 5.3 that supports multipoint and Auracast, while 3.5mm auxiliary and USB C audio connections give wired devices somewhere to plug in. Codec support includes SBC, AAC and LC3.
You don’t have to worry about power as the battery will give you more than 40 hours of playback from a charge. Just 20 minutes connected to a suitable 30W USB C charger provides around seven hours of listening, and the speaker can even recharge a phone from its own battery. Better still, the battery is replaceable when it eventually begins to lose capacity giving the Stockwell III a long lifespan.
At 1.3kg and measuring 180 x 162 x 74mm, the Stockwell III remains genuinely portable, while IP55 protection helps with dust and unexpected showers. The Stockwell III gets the balance right between personality and practicality. It sounds substantial for its size, lasts for days between charges and offers enough connection options to suit far more than casual Bluetooth listening. RRP £199.99
