You know you’re in a safe pair of hands when your audio comes with the name Technics on it. The Technics EAH‑AZ60M2 are the kind of wireless earbuds that focus on sound quality and useful features rather than flashy gimmicks. It is clear they have been created for people who genuinely care about how their music sounds. They come in three designs, Silver, Black and a beautiful Midnight Blue.
The first thing we were keen to know was want do these sound like, and you won’t be disappointed to discover it is really impressive. These aren’t cheap by any means, but they still manage to deliver above the price bracket with clarity. These earbuds use specially tuned 8 mm drivers and a carefully designed acoustic chamber that deliver a detailed and balanced sound. Music comes through with plenty of depth, with clear vocals and crisp highs, while bass stays controlled rather than overpowering the mix. They also support high resolution wireless audio through LDAC, which can deliver up to 24 bit 96 kHz audio when paired with a compatible device.
Noise cancelling is effective, the AZ60M2 use dual hybrid active noise cancelling with both feedforward and feedback microphones to reduce background noise. In practice this does a good job of cutting down constant sounds such as trains, traffic, or office chatter, making it easier to become immersed in your music or podcasts.
Comfort is thought out the earbuds have a low profile and an ergonomic shape that sits securely in the ear without feeling bulky. They are light enough for long listening sessions and come with several ear tip sizes to help you find a good fit.
These Technics uses the JustMyVoice system for calls, this uses multiple microphones and wind noise reduction to help isolate your voice while reducing background noise. It makes conversations sound clearer even when you are outside or in a busy environment.
The battery life isn’t top tier but it is still respectable when you think how hard these little buds are working. You can expect around seven hours of listening with noise cancelling on, with the charging case extending total playback to roughly 24 hours. A quick 15 minute charge can provide about 70 minutes of listening if you are in a hurry.
Other features include the multipoint Bluetooth 5.4 that can connect to up to three devices at once, making it easy to switch between a laptop, tablet, or phone. The Technics Audio Connect App which lets you select EQ sound modes, adjust noise cancelling levels and customise touch-sensors.
Overall, the Technics AZ60M2 feel refined and reliable. They deliver excellent sound, effective noise cancelling, and thoughtful features that make them a strong choice for anyone looking for high quality wireless earbuds. RRP £199.99
