Parenting is essentially a never-ending juggling act. You need one arm to carry baby, one for the bag, one for the coffee you desperately need, one to answer the call from the health visitor, one for…wait a minute?! This is where baby carriers can really help a parent out, it won’t give you all the extra limbs you need but it’s a good start. Designed for babies from 3.2kg to 15kg (approximately 7–33lbs) and 53–100cm in height, the Harmony can be used from birth without the need for an infant insert. It offers four carrying positions: newborn, facing in, facing out and back carrying, adapting as your little passenger grows. The transition between positions is straightforward, although you may need a little practice before making the switch with complete confidence. There are loads of short videos on their website to help you see exactly how to do it. The numerous adjustment straps can seem slightly intimidating at first. Fortunately, once everything is set up, everyday use becomes second nature.

There are two materials to choose from the Woven mélange which is 100% recycled polyester, super-soft and dries quickly. The 3D mesh is 100% polyester, also super-soft and with more flexibility, it also offers more in the way of breathability, releasing excess heat, to help keep you and your baby cool. There’s a range of colours in both material choices too.

Wide, padded shoulder straps combine with a generously cushioned waist belt and supportive lumbar pad to spread weight evenly across your back and hips, reducing the shoulder ache that cheaper carriers or narrower straps can often produce.

The adjustable head support grows with baby, while the ergonomic seat allows your child to sit in the recommended M shaped position, supporting healthy hip development. The entire carrier has also been recognised as hip healthy by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute, providing extra reassurance for new parents.

At around 892g, it’s certainly not the lightest carrier available, but it folds relatively flat for storage and feels reassuringly robust. Better still, every fabric is OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Class 1 certified, meaning it’s free from harmful substances and safe against delicate skin. It is also machine washable, a must have for anything that comes into contact with newborns and toddlers.
