Infinix Hot 50 5G 4.5

Mobile phones have moved on somewhat since Nokia grabbed everyone’s attention when they coded Snake in to the 6110 back in ’97. Now, over 25 years later you can play games like First-Person Shooters, driving games and immerse yourself in MMORPG’s, all on your mobile phone. They’ve become multi-media devices, used for all manner of things with phone calls being 1 small aspect of their design and Infinix have embraced this whole-heartedly!

Infinix are an Indian company, established 11 years ago with a focus on the younger market and how the youth of today focus on their mobile devices and it certainly seems to have paid off! They are now the world’s 3rd largest phone maker in the world with 12 million users in India alone and you can see why with this offering. Firstly, it’s really slim at 7.8mm which, considering all it has packed in, is quite remarkable. We have 5G, a 48mp Sony IMX582 Dual AI Camera with 12 camera modes, a Mediatek Dimensity6300 processor and up to 16GB Ram. On top of that we have 128GB storage and a 17.02cm screen size (93.9% screen to body ratio) with a 120Hz refresh rate. Phew! Clearly this thing has been designed with entertainment in mind and it doesn’t fail to deliver in that respect.

However, it’s all well and good having all the toys but if the battery life is no good, what’s the point? Most mobile phones carry a battery that carries 2-4000 mAh’s, this one has 5000 mAh’s, giving it a longer duration than the majority out there and so able to handle all the above toys. Seeing as you can have about 20 apps open at a time due to the processor, this is no bad thing! Obviously, the more you have going on, the less time it will last but it charges quickly via USB-C with up to 18W capability. TLDR: if you use your phone for mostly media, this one is ideal.RRP £108
