PC gamers will happily spend hours debating keyboards, monitors and graphics cards. Yet it’s the humble mouse that you interact with every second you’re at your desk. Get it right and everything feels effortless. Get it wrong and even opening a spreadsheet becomes frustrating. Fortunately, the Epomaker Nex Lite makes a good first impression, pairing impressive performance with a handful of genuinely useful features that punch above its price.

The first surprise is the dual OLED display. Both the mouse and its magnetic charging dock feature a dinky 0.54 inch OLED screen, displaying useful information such as battery level, DPI, connection mode and polling rate. It sounds like a gimmick but it quickly proves its worth by saving you from endlessly checking software or guessing how much battery remains.

A PixArt PAW3311 optical sensor offers sensitivity from 400 to 12,000 DPI across six preset levels, backed by 300 IPS tracking speed and 35G acceleration. Whether you’re carefully lining up a headshot or frantically escaping an ambush, movement feels consistently smooth and responsive. Wired and 2.4GHz wireless modes both support a 1,000Hz polling rate with 1ms latency, while Bluetooth runs at 125Hz for everyday use.

Weighing just 65g, the right-handed ergonomic shell is comfortable and easy to move about. It’s light enough for fast paced gaming sessions without feeling flimsy, and the shape works particularly well for claw and palm grip users. The fFive programmable buttons can be customised using Epomaker’s online software, with settings stored directly on the mouse thanks to onboard memory.

The included RGB magnetic charging dock keeps your desk tidy, houses the 2.4GHz receiver and makes charging easy. Inside, a 500mAh battery gives you up to 55 hours of use with the lighting and display disabled, or around 22 hours with everything illuminated. This sounds a lot but those hours can quickly become swallowed up when your deeply immersed.

The ABS shell lacks the premium feel of magnesium or aluminium rivals, and left handed users are out of luck thanks to the ergonomic design. The software also feels less polished than dedicated desktop apps.
Even so, it’s difficult to argue with the value on offer. Fast and highly capable, we shouldn’t be too surprised when Epomaker’s keyboards also often punch well above their price range.
