HUE HD Pro Camera

The HUE HD Pro Camera comes in Black, Blue, Red or Green, it is compatible with Windows, macOS, ChromeOS and Linux and on all devices as long as they have a USB port and support UVC ‘plug and play’ cameras. The camera can also be plugged directly into an interactive flat panel display if the panel has its own built-in operating system, check out the website for a list of known compatible devices available here.

This camera is USB powered, simply plug it in and it is ready to use, no complicated installation process which makes it ideal for switching quickly between computers or displays. The camera has 1280×720 (720p) resolution with a 5cm-infinity focus range, wide angle optical lens and a noise reducing microphone, it has been designed to be used as a webcam, portable document camera and visualiser. This camera can view a full A4 or US letter sheet and project it onto the whiteboard via your PC and projector, this will require downloading the HUE Intuition software (Windows or macOS) or opening the document camera in a camera or video application already installed, the length of the flexible neck makes it easy to arrange into position, there is a built in LED light that helps to illuminate a document or your face.

The HUE Intuition software also lets you record video and sound, save movies locally, email or upload to YouTube, annotate images and save as JPG/BMP/PNG/GIF, take snapshots and take multiple images over time. Most teachers don’t want autofocus if they have their hands under the camera as the camera would continually try to focus, the lack of an autofocus means it can take time manually focusing on documents for display, another handy addition would be a mount attachment, just so there was an option of attaching the HUE HD Pro to the monitor or other surface. Overall, everything about this little camera is quick and seamless, the images are clear and bright and the HUE Intuition software makes it a versatile product, ideal for the classroom and learning at home.
