The 70mai 4K A900 Set is built around the idea that if something happens on the road, the rear view should be just as useful as the front. Both cameras record at 3840 x 2160 resolution and 30fps, giving you true 4K coverage in both directions rather than pairing a strong front camera with a lower resolution rear one.
Each camera covers a 140-degree field of view and supports HDR, helping preserve detail when moving between bright sunlight, shadows and night driving. The front camera uses an f/1.55 aperture, while 70mai’s Night Owl Vision and MaiColor Vivid+ processing are designed to improve clarity, colour and number plate visibility in poor conditions.
The main unit has a 3.18-inch display, which is handy for checking footage and changing settings without having to reach for your phone. The built in GPS records speed, time and location, while ADAS can provide warnings around potentially risky driving situations. Voice control is available, letting you control key functions without taking your hands off the wheel.
Wi Fi 6 supports transfer speeds of up to 25MB per second, making those large 4K files considerably quicker to move across to your phone. The cameras are compatible with microSD cards from 32GB up to 512GB, which feels sensible for a dual 4K setup.
The parking features include collision detection, time lapse recording and buffered emergency recording, although 24 hour parking surveillance requires the appropriate hardwire kit which is sold separately. The A900 is also compatible with 70mai’s upgraded 4G system for additional remote features.
The A900 feels like a complete set, the dual 4K recording, HDR, GPS, fast wireless transfers and useful parking options combine to make it a serious all round dash cam package without one camera feeling like the weak link. RRP £206.79
