When we were travelling in China, we were told that if we wore our bag on our back the contents belonged to the people behind you, at the time the only way to combat this was to wear the bags on our front for security, this was neither practical, comfortable or flattering.
The new to the scene Samsonite Securipak tackles this issue by placing all the access points to the bag against your back, no one is getting in there without your knowledge. We received this bag in a striking True Blue design however it comes in a choice of 10 designs in total, ranging from the bright and bold to the more subtle styles ensuring there is something for all tastes. This backpack has a narrow profile, measuring up at 44 x 30 x 16cm making it suitable for commuting in busy environments, the underground for example, it has a 17L volume and weighs a comfortable 700g. The exterior is constructed from 100% recycled PET, with a cut and water-resistant finish, the front of the bag has a clean finish with a small amount of branding mounted on the full-length reflective strip. At the top of the bag is a well-padded carry handle and strong coat hook loop, this is also where the first pocket is located, it can be accessed without moving the shoulder straps out of the way, ideal for essentials that might need to be grabbed in a hurry.
There is the exterior USB port which feeds into the bag with a dedicated pocket for a power bank, letting you charge your devices on the move and without leaving your bag open. On either side of the main compartment are two generous pockets, one featuring building RFID Shield protection to provide an antitheft space for your wallet keeping it safe from payment/identity fraud and skimming. The main compartment can be opened up fully thanks to the poppers and Velcro on the side panels, letting the bag fold open and giving you full access, the laptop sleeve is generously padded and doesn’t come into contact with the ground owing to the padding at the bottom of the bag. Other pockets include a tablet or document sleeve, organiser compartments for smaller belongings, stretch side pocket and zip up pocket. The pack panel has thick padding preventing the contents from digging into the back, there is also a Velcro luggage pass through located here. Due to all the comfortable padding, you may find yourself getting warm on sunnier days or when rushing about, other than that the Securipak Laptop BackPack is near faultless, having successfully combined high levels of security and comfort for urban travel and exploring.
