HyperX Cloud III S Wireless
Gaming and Computing April 7, 2026
A decent headset can make all the difference between hearing an enemy creep up on you and having to watch yourself stand there like a lemon before getting taken out on the kill cam. The HyperX Cloud III S was originally a wired only headset but now you have the option of wireless. It keeps the familiar Cloud design that HyperX is known for but adds a few useful upgrades that make it a solid choice for everyday gaming.
Comfort is obviously key, no one likes distracting pressure points or sweaty ears whilst gaming. The headset uses soft memory foam ear cushions with a leather style finish, and the headband has plenty of padding too. It sits comfortably over the ears without feeling heavy or tight, even during longer sessions. If you are the kind of person who can spend hours in a game, that comfort really matters.
Sound quality is also very good for the price, the headset uses 53mm angled drivers, which help create clear and balanced audio. Dialogue, music, and small in game details like footsteps all come through nicely. It also supports DTS spatial audio, which helps add a bit more direction and depth to what you hear while gaming.
One of the most impressive features is the battery life when using the 2.4 GHz wireless connection, the headset can last up to around 120 hours on a single charge. If you switch to Bluetooth, it can stretch even further. For most people that means you will rarely need to think about charging it, great if forward planning isn’t your strong point.
The detachable microphone does a good job as well. Voices sound clear in party chat or online games, and it does a decent job reducing background noise. The controls on the earcup make it simple to adjust volume or mute the mic without opening menus.
The HyperX Cloud III S Wireless feels reliable, comfortable, and easy to use. It does not try to do anything overly flashy, but it delivers great sound, excellent battery life, and the kind of comfort that makes it ideal for long gaming sessions. RRP £129.98
