The Edifier K815 over-ear headphones have been professionally developed to be used for online activity, including gaming and those now all too familiar video calls on Zoom and Go2Meeting. The headset is lightweight and does the simple stuff well on the videos calls, however for gaming even with extra bass I found it worked ok for non-directional sound but on games like Call of Duty I lost my edge that I have with my normal Steel Series headset but then these are a tenth of the price. The headphones do have some bass built in but I just found because there are no controls on the device itself it is not practical for gaming. I find simple options like muting yourself very important when munching crisps in the middle of a long session, no one wants to hear the inside of your mouth. So for me these headphones are more for listening to music and conferences than for gaming, however they are extremely comfortable and have been made so you can wear them for long periods.
The headset is light and made with plastic with a gloss looking finish with a retractable mic and really soft padding on the cups. I work from home and am in video conferences for around 4 hours a day on average, these have replaced my old Logitech headset due to the comfortability factor. As the name suggests the headset has a USB connection so will work on any device with a USB port or you can use a USB adaptor. For me the Edifier USB K815 is a great utility headset as it can serve many purposes but I don’t feel it is the master of any. If you are working from home like me and looking for something comfortable and reasonably cheap these are a fantastic option. RRP £44.95
