Lindy BNX-100 Wireless Headphones 4

Lindy was founded in Germany in 1932 and started off selling petrol lamps and early electrical appliances, 88 years later and they produce a wide range of electrical goods including these BNX-100 wireless headphones.

These over ear headphones have a stylish design, they don’t look bulky on and feel comfortable thanks to their lightweight construction and the generous padding in the protein leather earcups and headband. They come with a compact hard case for transport which would be improved by adding a handle or carry loop. There are buttons on both earcups which will take a little getting used to, they are very small and not easy to distinguish even when you are looking at them, the volume controls double up as the skip button which means you can accidently skip the track whilst trying to turn up the volume. The BNX-100 connect over Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX low latency codec technology which gives you a strong connection and clear stereo audio, you can also use the included audio jack if the battery runs down or you are using some old school device without Bluetooth.

The battery should give you about 15hours playback, the audio cable and charging cable are always to hand thanks to the Velcro storage pouch that sits inside the case. These headphones feature an Audio-Pass through mode which can be activated at a touch of a button, it helps to hear external audio a little, like traffic for example, however, if you need to speak to someone you can simply whip them off and take advantage of the audio pause, which automatically recognises when the headphones are removed and starts your music up again as soon as you put them back on. Other features include the battery level indicator, 40mm high output drivers with neodymium magnets and hands-free calling with the built-in microphone.

The all-important sound quality is enjoyable, we found the high tones can become a little lost at higher volumes, but the mid tones are clean, and the bass is nice and punchy. The BNX-100 are attractive and comfortable headphones, we would like to see those controls cleaned up a little, but they could probably be overlooked for now due to the enjoyable sound quality, healthy battery life and the high performing ANC.
