Pure Evoke Home – Cherry Wood Edition 4
If you want an all-in-one music system that doesn’t look like it’s come straight out of a sci-fi movie, I may have just the thing for you here. With its very simplistic box design hiding a whole range of musical options behind that warm wooden exterior, the Pure Evoke Home lends itself well to many styles of room design, but especially those looking for something with a bit of a nostalgic look and something a little discrete that won’t dominate the room.

Of course, looks aren’t everything so what does this system provide? You get both DAB+ and FM radio, internet radio, Spotify Connect, alarms, a sleep timer as well as a 3.5 audio jack for your headphones and it even has a CD player! I personally love the last one as I’m the kind of guy that prefers to have a physical copy of my music as opposed to digital only. Afterall, if the internet goes down, how will I listen to my tunes otherwise? It’s a nice little touch in this day and age of digital media that I am grateful they included.

The control panel is a discrete digital display that folds down on the top of the unit so you can use it to set up whatever you’re listening to and then get it out of the way to minimise visual distraction and the included remote means you don’t have to fiddle about with it until you want to change your chosen media. And, even though they’ve included a remote, there is also an app that you can use to control the player so you can just do it all from your phone if you wish. The speakers are two 20mm soft-dome tweeters with 3.5” woofers that deliver a 100W audio output, giving you a decent sound that the wooden grill helps to make softer taking some of the ‘clinical’ noise of a CD down a notch, a definite plus. Seals the deal for me! RRP £449.99
