Nokta Legend 2
Camping and Outdoors May 12, 2026
All too often products have a next generation release which does little more than change the branding and increase the price tag. However, that is not the case for the Legend 2, building on the success of the original Legend it feels like a confident step forward for serious hobbyists who want power without unnecessary complexity. It is designed as a true all terrain detector and it shows whether you are inland coin shooting or working wet sand on the beach.
The things that made the Legend great are all still here but with numerous tweaks. The Legend 2 has simultaneous multi frequency operation which allows it to handle a wide range of targets and ground conditions without constantly switching settings.
It has expanded the Target IDs to 99 from 60, improved audio with 7 tone options, and a redesigned user interface and button layout for a faster, more intuitive control in every hunt. It also introduces a brand-new Relic mode, which has been created to tackle the toughest conditions with ease.
Depth and target separation are very impressive, and it does a great job of finding good targets in trashy areas. It is also fully waterproof with an IP68 rating (submersible up to 16 ft) which makes it a strong choice for beach hunters and shallow water detecting. The built-in rechargeable battery is another welcome upgrade that offers 33% more detecting time. Theres also now Bluetooth connectivity for updates and making it compatible with wireless and bone conductive headphones. It is lighter, has a backlit display and as well as a charge LED indicator.
What we like is how customisable the detector is, there are plenty of settings to place with but it still approachable. The menu system is becomes second nature once you spend a bit of time with it you can fine tune audio tones sensitivity and recovery speed to suit your style. Build quality feels solid and the shaft balance makes it comfortable to swing for hours. Nokta has also improved stability and overall performance compared to the original version which experienced users will appreciate.
There are a few things to consider, the learning curve is steeper than beginner focused machines and new users may feel overwhelmed at first. Out of the box settings are good but to really unlock the detector you will need to invest time in learning the controls. Some users may also find the detector slightly heavier than simpler models especially during long hunts. If you already have the Legend, it’s worth delving into the updates to see if it’s worth the investment. However, if you are looking to upgrade from a beginner detector this is a great choice.
Overall the Nokta Legend 2 is a powerful and versatile metal detector that has so much to offer those users who want control performance and flexibility. It is an excellent value for those ready to step beyond entry level machines. RRP £999.95
