EPOMAKER x AULA F99 Max
Gaming and Computing June 3, 2026
The EPOMAKER x AULA F99 aims to find a balance between mechanical keyboard features and realistic pricing. It delivers the kind of soft, satisfying typing feel and sound that used to require expensive custom builds. The F99 comes in three colours, White Pink, Blue White and Black.
The F99 uses a compact 96% layout with 99 keys, keeping the numpad and function row while taking up less desk space than a full-size board. For work, gaming, and general use, it feels like a happy middle ground. The gasket mounted design, flex cut PCB, and five layers of internal dampening give the keyboard a softer, deeper typing sound than many boards anywhere near this price.
Switch options like the Leobog Greywood V3 and Reaper switches feel smooth straight out of the box thanks to factory lubrication, and the hot swap sockets mean you can easily change switches later without soldering. Typing feels cushioned rather than harsh, with a pleasant bounce that makes long sessions more enjoyable.Connectivity is a strong point with get Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4GHz wireless, and USB C wired modes, alongside a huge 8000mAh battery that comfortably lasts weeks between charges with moderate RGB use. RGB lighting is bright and fully customisable through the Windows software, although the software itself feels a little rough around the edges.
Build quality is solid for the money, even if the ABS plastic case lacks the premium heft of aluminium boards. The Cherry profile keycaps feel comfortable and the stabilisers are impressively clean out of the box, this all makes the F99 feel like it punches well above its price bracket.
There are a few compromises. The companion software is Windows only, wireless latency is fine for casual gaming rather than serious competitive play, and some users have reported occasional wireless connection quirks.
Still, for under £100, the F99 offers an unusually polished mechanical keyboard experience with excellent sound, comfort, and flexibility. RRP $99.99
