KitchenAid Go Cordless Top Down Chopper

I am a sucker for a kitchen gadget, if there is anything that can make the food prep easier and dinner on my plate quicker then I want it, plus there aren’t many brands more reliable than KitchenAid. The KitchenAid Go Cordless Top Down Chopper (I can’t help but say “chopper” like Arnie) is a portable cordless food chopper designed to be powered either by a removable rechargeable 12 V MAX battery or mains. It delivers up to 24 minutes of continuous chopping on a single charge, so you don’t have to rely on space around the plug socket to use it. It uses the same battery model across all the other KitchenAid Go cordless appliances, this model doesnt come with the battery pack but you can use one you already have or buy one separately.

The design is compact and lightweight, with an 830ml bowl and a twist‑free drop‑in assembly for quick setup and cleanup. The bowl, lid and multipurpose s-blade accessory are dishwasher safe, while the base simply needs a wipe down. Despite its plastic construction, the unit feels surprisingly powerful and durable, plus that cordless design means you can even use it for outdoor cooking.

Using the chopper is intuitive, simple press and hold the large top button to operation or tap repeatedly for pulse control. It offers two speed settings via a side dial, however, the button must be held down during use, so it does require continuous hand pressure (still less effort than chopping with a knife).

It can comfortably handle vegetables, soft fruits, create dips, dressings and even tougher ingredients with consistent results. The lid can be used to store your ingredients in the fridge or keep the bugs off outside until it’s ready to eat.
On the downside, the run time feels shorter when used continuously, especially on higher speed. Also, the battery cannot be recharged while the unit is in use and it takes 3hours to get a full charge, this is where having a second battery will be handy.
