Muc Off Ride Pack Black 5

The Muc Off Ride Pack Black is one of those bags that earns its place amongst your gear through practical design and solid build quality. It feels hard wearing and useful for everything from quick errands to full days out on gravel or trail rides. At its core the Ride Pack is a 20-litre backpack with a roll top opening that lets you adjust how much you carry and keeps the contents secure and protected from the weather. The adjustable chest and waist straps ensures the bag remains secure to the body so your balance isn’t thrown off.

The impressive build quality is thanks to the tough 900D Cordura and finished with DWR water resistant coating, so it stands up well to mud and showers. It also comes with a reflective waterproof rain cover which is a good extra layer when the skies open and helping you to remain visible. The shoulder straps are ventilated and there is a Climate Control system that helps keep airflow to your back, on warm days or when you are working hard.

Storage is well thought out too. There’s a large main compartment that can be expanded with the roll top, a front zipped pocket for bits you need to keep close to hand, and external straps and bungee cords for things like a jacket or pump. It even has a slot for a hydration pack up to three litres, so you can carry water without taking up space inside. The military style Molle attachment system means you can bolt on extra pouches and accessories if you want to customise the setup.

Small touches like microfibre lined pockets for glasses or tech, padded waist support and a Hiplok FLX slot for locking your bike when stopped make it feel genuinely rider oriented. For someone who wants a single pack that handles everyday use and serious rides without fuss it ticks almost all the boxes. The price isn’t cheap but considering the quality and versatility it feels like good value for what you get. RRP £140
