XbotGo Falcon 4

The cameras we get on our phones are great in a lot of environments, but they aren’t at the level where they can keep up with fast paced sports. The XbotGo Falcon has been designed as a pro level way to capture sports with an AI powered camera system designed to track players and action automatically. It is Bluetooth 5.2 and Wifi compatible, and can support up to 1024GB MicroSD but doesn’t come with one.

The magic is in the auto tracking, the AI will detect what game is being played (10+ sports compatible) and follow the ball and players without needing a human camera operator, and in good lighting it works surprisingly well. This means you can pop it on a tripod and keep your hands off whilst recording, giving you a stable image. With a tap, it will detect the key points of actions and auto-generates highlight reels for sharing. It locks onto the action smoothly and keeps things centred, which is good for parents, coaches, or teams wanting quick footage without extra effort. The setup is also simple, with a companion app that helps you get started and adjust settings.

The XbotGo Live allows for free streaming with one-tap broadcasting to YouTube, Facebook, and full RTMP support, which it handy for those who can’t be pitch side that day. The hardware itself feels solid. It comes with a mount and a camera unit that is designed to sit on the sidelines, and the 9,600 mAh battery life provides 4hours playtime with a 3hour charging time. The 4K video quality is sharp for most situations, with good detail and stable footage thanks to built-in stabilization. The unit is weather resistant so if the players can perform, so can the camera.

That said, it is not perfect. The tracking can struggle in crowded scenes or when players overlap, and sometimes it loses the ball briefly. The app, while functional, can feel a bit clunky and could use some polishing. It is also not the cheapest option, so it might feel like an investment unless you plan to use it regularly.

Overall, the XbotGo Falcon is an impressive bit of kit. It is not flawless, but if you want automated sports filming without hiring someone behind a camera, it is a genuinely useful and quite impressive solution. RRP £659
