APL Labs Unisex TechLoom Zipline
Sports and Fitness March 10, 2025

If you’re in the market for a high-performance running sneaker that blends style, comfort, and tech, the APL TechLoom Zipline is definitely worth a look. APL (Athletic Propulsion Labs) has built a reputation for crafting premium sneakers that blur the line between athletic and lifestyle wear, and this one is no exception.
The TechLoom Zipline feels like a luxury sneaker, hence the price and comes in a whopping 64 colour designs, there is something for everyone. The APL’s signature TechLoom knit upper is super lightweight, breathable, and moulds nicely to the foot. The “Zipline” in the name refers to the exposed cord-like reinforcement running along the upper, which gives the shoe a futuristic aesthetic while adding structural support. This spiderweb like style won’t be for everyone, you will either love it or hate it.
Slip these on, and you’ll immediately notice the plush APL FutureFoam midsole, it’s responsive, cushioned, and absorbs impact well and helps to propel you forward in the forefoot. The Souffle sock-like fit hugs your foot, and while there’s no traditional tongue, the design makes it easy to slide on and off. Sizing runs true to size, but if you have wider feet, you might find the fit a little snug.
For running and training, the Zipline is solid but not a max-cushion shoe. It’s more of a lightweight trainer that excels in gym workouts, short runs, and all-day wear. The grip is reliable, though not ideal for trail running or super aggressive workouts.
At $320, the APL TechLoom Zipline is a premium sneaker with premium looks—but it’s not a must-buy for everyone. If you prioritize style, lightweight comfort, and versatility, it’s a great pick. But if you’re looking for pure performance running shoes, there are better (and cheaper) options. RRP $320
