I hate carrying loads of gear to the gym. Often the lockers are all full, and if I lug too much stuff around from station to station, I’m guaranteed to lose something. So, the fact that the Grace water bottle from MOBOT doubles up as a foam roller is a pretty interesting concept. Sure, my gym has foam rollers lying around, but I’m not keen on taking a turn after someone’s rubbed their sweaty inner thigh all over it.
The bottle holds 27oz (around 800ml), which is a decent amount for staying hydrated through a workout or a busy day. It’s made from stainless steel, so your water stays cool for hours, and the wide mouth makes it easy to chuck in ice cubes or give it a proper clean—although I did find it didn’t keep the water ice-cold for very long. The lid’s leak-proof too, so you can toss it in your bag without worrying about soggy notebooks.
But that could describe any old bottle. What sets this one apart is the firm, patterned foam wrapped around it, which has just the right density for rolling out tight muscles. It’s especially handy after a run or gym session, and since it’s built around the bottle, it saves space in your kit bag. Granted, it’s not as big as a standard foam roller, so it won’t replace one entirely—but it’s a decent option when you’re travelling or at the gym.
Design-wise, the Mobot Grace looks good and comes in a variety of colours, so there’s probably one that suits your vibe. It’s not the lightest bottle out there, but considering it’s doing double duty, that’s fair enough.
All in all, the Mobot Grace 27oz is an interesting idea. The size means it won’t suit everyone as a foam roller, and without that feature, it’s just a rather pricey and bulky water bottle. But if you’re into fitness and like your gear to multitask, it’s worth checking out—and it makes a cool gift for gym bunnies. RRP $54.99
