Knowing what to wear for a workout this time of the year is a tricky balance, you want to keep those muscles warm when you first step out but then you can become too warm as soon as you get the blood pumping.

The Life Workout Hoodie from Ronhill aims to combat this by creating the perfect top that will see you through the warm up, supports you during the main event be that running, boot camp or CrossFit for example and then sees you through the cools down stage. The first thing you notice about this hoody is just how thin the material is, it is hard to image it has enough about it to keep you warm. However, the 88% Polyester and 12% Elastane composite is impressively insulating whilst maintaining a lightweight 310g, especially when you pop the hood up. When you get up and running the materials breathable properties kick in and you appreciate that thin material. If you get a sweat on this hoody will wick it away helping you to keep dry and comfortable, the half zip can be opened for some extra ventilation if needed.

The reflective trim detailing helps to keep you visible in the early hours and evenings, there are thumb loops for the option of keeping your hands warmer and helps to hold the sleeves in place. The fit is close to the body but fairly relaxed, so movements are natural and unrestricted, no excuses to not get into the swing of things, there is a chin guard to prevent the zip from touching the skin. There is a good- sized pocket on the chest for storing keys, credit cards and other small essentials, however the zip is a little stiff with a small zip pull that can be lost in the fabric garage above, this can be difficult to prise out with cold hands. The Life has potential to become your go to hoody for workouts, it has a luxurious feel and regulates your temperature well, it can be used for a wide range of exercises but we feel it is ideal for runners, especially those that enjoy the early morning runs all year round.
