Stiga Combi 336e Kit 4.5
Gardening is, I find, a stressful endeavour. Probably because I’m not naturally a green-fingered person and approach it with the same level of reluctance usually reserved for getting up for work on a Monday morning. One of the main reasons for this reluctance is the fear of carelessly slicing through a power cord while mowing the lawn. Let’s be honest, it’s unlikely (almost cat-like levels of dexterity get regularly employed to keep that damn cord under control!) but it’s one of those things that was probably highlighted in one of those terrifying government safety videos from the 70’s that have a nasty knack of not going away! The obvious solution of course is a petrol-powered mower but then you’re just swapping one danger for another aren’t you? Thankfully, modern tech has resulted in this, a wireless electric mower!

The Combi 336e comes with a 35 litre grass catcher if you just want to collect all those trimmings and get rid of them with ease but it also has 2 other options for dealing with all that cut grass. You can either choose to have it discharge out of the rear and leave it to fertilise the ground naturally or you can use the mulching plug provided to give you some mulch for other areas of your garden, ensuring all the nutrients in the grass don’t go to waste and you gain the benefit from them. The battery is good to cover about 200 m² before it needs a recharge so most of us should comfortably be able to do our lawn and plug it back in when done, ensuring it will always be charged up for when you need it.

The handlebar is adjustable so you can get it just right for your height and the handle itself is soft-grip, making it comfortable on the hands. The cutting deck is 34cm ensuring a decently wide coverage, which allows you to get your mowing done quicker and more efficiently. The carry handle makes it easy for you to fold up the mower and carry it around when done as well as making for easier storage. RRP £360
